That's "Life"

"Life," the super creatively titled autobiography by the inimitable Keith Richards, has been my read-du-jour as of late. Makes me miss England something terrible, of all things-- and reinforces my love of good rock & roll, which is a sizable passion on my list of favorites.

La Belle Chose

Paris is what I imagine it would feel like to awaken from the dead-- the life taken from your flaccid corpse only be electrified once again with blinding, searing, clarity. Epiphany, were it a swirl of senses and memory, pungent fragrance of a thousand of the fullest bouquets in myriad colours, the fire of the perfect whiskey. Then... the train pulls like toffee from the station and you consciously turn your mind away, only the whispered promise of "I will return" lingering in the space between...

Unless you cannot afford a ticket back, then you watch it in movie theaters and feel your heart fighting tooth and nail to get out. At least the popcorn is immediately [ful]filling.

The Last Leg(s)

In the home stretch-- over halfway done with my final paper of undergrad-- and naturally I need to share with you all a few pictures I ran across (metaphorically) recently that I had quite forgotten about. What is better than peanut butter & jelly? Try jelly and fish, preferably together, jellyfish. At the Monterey Bay Aquarium in the summer of 2008. Enjoy.

Dithering In The Rain

Santa Barbara Mission in the afternoon.

Oh my heavens. If it seems like I've been unavailable for the past several weeks (try three months, actually) that conception may stem from the fact that I am in any one place no longer than three days at a time. Such a conception would be accurate. Such is the life of, erm, myself.
Randsburg. Enough said.

I purchased this. I am in love.
Le Petit Dejeuner at Figaro.

I have tons of really excellent (in my humble opinion) photographs I have taken of my meanderings, but they are all in my cameras' memory cards and I have been lax in uploading them, so the ones above are from le phone. Which, apparently, will in fact cause cancer, so enjoy them, they may cost me dearly. Modern living, what can you do?

I am dithering. I graduate in seven days (a week?! when did that happen??) and then am off to a very busy summer, which may make law school in the fall seem like a vacation. Maybe. It is pouring rain outside my door and I doubt much could make me happier. See's candies, you say? Yes, actually, that would make me happier. If only there were a shop approximately 1.5 blocks from-- ah, that's right, there is. I'll be right back.
